In 2013, after a sold out run of performances, “Echoes In The Heart” won the Elly as Best New Play!
Ever since, there have been calls to bring it back for another run. And NOW
“ECHOES IN THE HEART” is the true story of how Max and Marga Grunwald
escaped with their infant daughter from Nazi Germany, seeking a home but
turned away by country after country until finally making it to the United
States on the last Japanese passenger ship to arrive before Pearl Harbor.
The play, by Suzanne Sommer and Leo McElroy, is based on letters found by
Suzanne (the “infant daughter”) after her parents died.
The play will run weekends, October 26 through November 11, at the Howe
Avenue Theater in Sacramento. Rehearsals will begin in mid-September.
Open auditions for the four major roles will be held at Howe Avenue Theater,
in the park at Howe and Cottage Way, on
* Friday night, August 17th, from 6 p.m. till 9 p.m.
* Saturday morning, August 18th, from 9 a.m. till 12 noon.
