Sierra Stages is pleased to announce open auditions for its winter 2020 production of “Blithe Spirit” by Noel Coward, playing from February 27, 2020 through March 21, 2020 at the historic Nevada Theatre in Nevada City. The director is Scott Gilbert.
“Blithe Spirit” has remained a popular and often-revived comedy over the past eight decades. After a “spirited” séance goes decidedly wrong, the cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine suddenly finds himself face to face with the ghost of his deceased wife, Elvira…much to the chagrin of his current spouse, Ruth. Caught between one live wife and one dead wife – both jealous of the other – Charles thinks matters couldn’t be worse … or could they? Love and marriage quickly devolve into laughter and mayhem in one of Noel Coward’s biggest successes.
There are two opportunities to audition: Thursday, October 10 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Auditions on both dates are at the Sierra Stages Rehearsal Studio, 828 West Main Street, Grass Valley, CA 95945. (Directions are on the Sierra Stages website.) All roles are open. All roles are unpaid.
