What We Do
As a volunteer-run organization, SARTA works hard to encourage a love of and participation in theatre throughout the Sacramento area and beyond. We want to hold community events and continue to support children with a passion for theatre! By supporting us, you'll be helping us support you!
Every donation over $50 will receive a SARTA lapel pin!
Microgrants
One of SARTA's goals in 2024 is to launch our microgrant program in support of local community theatres and performing groups with limited financial flexibility. We're hoping to offer grants up to $500 for groups that have an annual operating budget of under $50,000 so that we can foster community theatre development and engagement. We also want to form stronger bonds with our local performing groups, while encouraging growth and local outreach. But we need your help to have the funding availability for this project!
Student Scholarships
SARTA launched our YES (Youth Education Scholarship) program, and we've seen great success with the youth we've sponsored. Over the past year, we have given out approximately $2000 to YES recipients! Parents have been overjoyed with the program as well, and we love giving local youth the opportunity to participate in theatre classes, workshops, and events.
We want to continue encouraging young people to join and participate in theatre, so we need your assistance to ensure that we have the funds to continue providing those scholarships.
Community Events
SARTA has held multiple Tonight Starring! and Cabaret events in 2023, and in 2024 we want to hold even more community celebrations - including karaoke, trivia night, appreciation events, workshops, and more. With your support, we can continue putting on events that bring our local theatre community together.
