All submissions meeting guidelines will be reviewed by a joint panel. The winning submission will have their play rehearsed and performed on our virtual platform, plus receive a paid licensing fee.

Big Idea Theatre alongside Queer Voices is thrilled to announce A BIT More, Virtual Playwrighting Contest!
Are you a Sacramento Playwright with a One-Act in the works? BIT and Queer Voices are looking for an exciting new play centering the lived experiences of queer and trans folks. All submissions meeting guidelines will be reviewed by a joint panel. The winning submission will have their play rehearsed and performed on our virtual platform, plus receive a paid licensing fee.
Guidelines:
*        Submission Deadline: May 23
*        One-Act play ranging from 60-90 minutes in length
*        Play should center the experiences of queer and trans youth
*        Include roles for queer and trans youth (ages 13- 21)
*        Playwright must be willing to work the script with the director and actors

Our mission is to build a collaborative group of artists to produce theatre that is passion-fueled and provides an enriching experience for our patrons. We create educational opportunities to pass on skills and passions to an ever-developing group of enthusiasts, professionals, and everyone in-between.
About Queer Voices:
Queer Voices is an educational performing arts program at the Sacramento LGBT Community Center. Participants, ranging between the ages of 13-40, share their stories through artistic mediums such a poetry, spoken word, comedy, and drag. They perform at high schools, colleges, churches, and community events.
